Halloween 2011

 Dorothy is preparing goody bags for the trick-or-treaters.

  It really takes a lot of time as there are bunches and bunches of cute costumed children who always make sure to visit Prairie Pines.

Mildred sure enjoyed her friends stopping by for an afternoon visit.





Don't Evelyn's morning glorys just look beautiful?

 We are so glad she planted those seeds. 

It was fun watching the flowers grow.

And we sure are greatful that
Don O. built that amazing trellis
for the flowers to climb.

2011 Kiowa County Fair Parade

One of the munchkins is helping the lion get ready for the parade.

We sure do look good. 
Our staff members, Pam, Crystal, Erica, Brandy and residents Lois and Betty had so much fun,
they can't wait to do it again.
We couldn't have pulled it all together without the help of staff member Roxi - the awesome coordinator, Roxi's daughter - the lion, and Pam's sister - another munchkin, and last but not least, Erica's son - the tin man.  Kudos also for Veronique and Maria for their, very much appreciated, artistic contributions.

 



Hum, it looks like we lost a munchkin and the tin man took over the wheelchair.



We were glad the portable CD player worked;
we walked the entire parade route listening to the soundtrack from the Wizard of OZ movie.  How fun!!



Afterward we visited with old friends at the nursing home. 
And a good time was had by all.



Kit Carson Days - Melodrama 2011

The cast was awesome!   Big talent on a small stage.  Wow!

We got to see our old friend, Yvonne.

   

A melodrama isn't complete without the pianist.

The residents sure enjoyed their night out on the town.
